After becoming addicted to clothes and music at the ripe age of 10, I pursued a career in fashion and have managed to somehow survive the ebbs and flows of the industry. I graduated from the University of Houston in 2001 and landed at PaperCity Magazine until I decided to move to Los Angeles in 2003. After a brief stint at California Apparel News, I served as West Coast Trend Correspondent for an online fashion trend forecasting service where I reported on retail and street trends in Los Angeles and parts of South America for nearly three years. A freelance career followed soon after writing for Men.Style.com, working as Fashion Editor for Closet Couture and compiling trend reports for companies such as Levi’s, Steven by Steve Madden and B.Base Eyewear in Hong Kong. I have recently launched a new business, kneeland co., selling vintage textile and prints; embellishments; and jewelry to designers to be used as inspiration for creating product.
