As I was reading one of my favorite blogs the other day, Noteworthy, I came across these incredibly crafted pieces of jewelry made by the late Sonja Hahn-Ekberg.  She was a piano teacher who became interested in textile design around the ’60s and eventually created neck jewels using silk and wire.  They remind me somewhat of friendship bracelets, the strings of a harp, and a big, bright rainbow.  I love how she incorporated the sculptural hardware into her pieces, making them even more beautiful works of art.  One of her necklaces pays homage to Frida Kahlo, which made me love it even more.  Thanks, Lisa, for introducing me to Sonja Hahn-Ekberg!
