I have been anxiously awaiting the release of Aaron Rose’s documentary about Sister Corita Kent, Become a Microscope. Sister Corita Kent is one of my heroes in art and life.  She was a nun and an art teacher who taught at the Immaculate Heart College here in Los Angeles from 1947 to 1968 and became known for her use of color, slogans, typography and overall message about what lies above.  She was about peace, love, and understanding told through art and encouraged her students to really look beyond the surface for the beauty in things.  Below is a sneak peek of the film and just watching this makes me want to cry.  It’s so beautiful.
