A while back I came across Wayuu Taya bags on Refinery 29 and immediately saved the photos to my inspiration folder.  Wayuu Taya is a non-profit organization that helps to improve the lives of Latin American indigenous communities through education, science & technology, arts & culture, sports, nutrition, infrastructure and social development all while supporting their beliefs and traditions.  These colorful Susu woven bucket bags are handmade by Wayuu indigenous women at Shukumajaya, the foundation’s center that helps to education women on parenting, nutrition and family planning.  All of them are one-of-a-kind and proceeds go to The Wayuu Taya Foundation.  Now I just have to decide which one I want!  Click here to check out Wayuu Taya’s online store.
