I spent some time yesterday on the University of Wisconsin Digital Library browsing through the catalog of the Decorative Arts and Material Culture. I found all kinds of amazingness on there but it was these floral engravings that I went mad for, one for each month of the year. They were engraved in black and then hand colored on paper in 1730 by engraver Henry Fletcher and designer Pieter Casteels.  They are quite possibly the most beautiful arrangement of flowers I have ever seen on paper and they would make an amazing calendar, or would look exquisite framed one by one on a wall.
