While browsing The American Folk Life Center on The Library of Congress website I came across these magical rugs by Maryland artist Mary Sheppard Burton.  The collection is a set of twelve hooked rugs that is part of a series entitled Tell Me ‘Bout, each telling a personal narrative about the artist’s family.  All of the rugs were made in the early ’90s and were acquired by The American Folk Life Center in 2006. I love how the scenes in each rug look so adventurous and dreamlike, and even a little juvenile.
