Balenciaga launched their new website a few weeks ago complete with archives of past ad campaigns, editorials, sketches and inspiration dating back to the ’30s when the house was launched by Cristóbal Balenciaga.  A few months ago I visited the De Young Museum in San Francisco to take in the Balenciaga exhibit which completely floored me.  After learning so much about the history of the brand, I can’t help but be inspired by the new website that highlights the craftsmanship, innovativeness, and beauty of a label that has had such an enormous impact in the world of fashion.  In my opinion, Cristóbal Balenciaga was one of the best designers in the world and his influence continues to reign amongst many a designer, including Nicolas Ghesquière who has done a fine job executing both Cristóbal’s vision and his own.
