I just found these images stashed away on my computer and wanted to share them.  They’re antique carpet fragments that were mostly found along the Silk Road, some made as early as 200 BC.  A few of them look like what would be weavings today, but what I really love is their faded colors and disintegrating yarns.  I also like the weird shapes each have taken on with time – they remind me of puzzle pieces.  You can explore more on the V & A database.
