Darryl and I have been house hunting for about a year now and while I am very grateful for the possibility of owning a home, I can’t say that searching for a house in LA is the most exciting thing ever. The market is nuts right now with people engaging in bidding wars and after looking at dozens and dozens of houses that have been stripped of all their character, the whole process can become a little daunting. That being said, it hasn’t stopped me from developing my vision of what I want our home to feel like, be like, and look like. Pouring over countless interior magazines and pinning away on Pinterest is the exciting part, especially when I lay eyes on something like this – a home in Hydra owned by the Marden family. Sure, vacation homes always seem to be a little more enticing, but this abode is quite the dream that could become a reality in the city. The mix of marble with terracotta and wood is just too good, and the simplicity of the home brightened up with gorgeous vivid textiles kills me. The Greek bench in the wide open white space is just spewing with creativity and it makes me want to set up shop and go hardcore with making things. I love this home so very much. You can check it out in the July/August issue of Lonny.
